Our client is targeting a candidate with a strong gas turbine background and working knowledge of performing preventative maintenance on equipment and control monitors.
They have a need for this position in their Los Banos, CA facility.
This is an hourly full-time position with overtime available.
Hiring manager is prior GSE in the Navy and looking to add Military talent.
As a Gas Turbine Technician, you are tasked with overseeing the operations of two gas turbine Cogen power plants in the Central Valley of California.
Your responsibilities encompass a range of critical tasks.
This includes operating the main control equipment of the electric plants, identifying, and rectifying circuit failures, and replacing faulty components.
Additionally, your role involves measuring current, voltage, and resistance, conducting tests for shorts, grounds, and continuity, as well as assessing protective circuitry.
You are also responsible for testing, servicing, and replacing batteries, performing preventive maintenance on digital data equipment and control circuits, measuring insulation resistance, and repairing electrical and electronic cables, wiring, and connectors.
Maintenance of alarm, indicating, and warning systems, as well as the upkeep and repair of gas turbine engines and auxiliary equipment, falls within your purview.
Working with blueprints, schematics, and charts, you carry out administrative procedures related to gas turbine system operation and maintenance, conduct work area inspections, operate standard test equipment, and ensure proper engine performance by stopping engines and checking and adjusting the operating tolerance of various components such as contacts, microswitches, relay switches, pressure switches, and temperature switches.
